A hot, sexy ex-military man named Grey and a sassy, smart ex-cop Athena. These two together were hot!! I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

And when that fight brings them together will they be able to work together on their joint cause? I really enjoyed the first in a new series by Desiree Holt. Grey is disgusted that money cause the lives of soldiers including his best friend. He is determined the man responsible will pay even if it isn't quite legal. Athena became a cop to help others. But corruption runs so deeply within the department she is unable to make a dent in wrongs. She will catch the powerful man who buys himself out of trouble even if she skirts the law she vows to protect. When she meets Grey she isn't sure she can trust him. But when she learns their goals are similar, she takes the plunge and decides to trust him, in spite of the overwhelming attraction she fees for him. I love that Ms. Holt gives us two strong characters. Both want to right wrongs and find their attraction inconvenient. The chemistry felt believable and I enjoyed seeing both Grey and Athena be blindsided by their needs. I can't wait to see how Ms. Holt continues not only their love story but this new series.

Fantastic Story By Melyssa Winchester I’ve only ever experienced one Emily Goodwin book before those one and loved it, so having a chance to read this one before release was a no brainer. Especially when I found out that it was going to be a romantic comedy.I’m a sucker for a good laugh and this book delivered that in spades.What this book also delivered was two very real characters. Characters that I could connect to and feel for. One’s whose motivations felt real, and ones with lives built so well that they could very well be two people in my own life with as familiar as they came across as I read.I have to admit though, I definitely connected a lot more to Felicity than I did Ben. She reminded me in a lot of respects of myself, which may have been the reason for the almost instant connection, or it could have been because she wasn’t your typical romantic heroine. She was more. She was real. She was a nerdy type of girl with a heart of gold, one who until Ben enters her life, seems pretty secure in who she is. But a girl who like a lot of us, no matter what our ages, has insecurities that when things seem to get a little too heavy or real, rear their ugly head.Especially when a lot of the reasons for them to begin with happens to be thrown right in your path and despite your belief that you’re over it, you’re forced to deal with again on a day to day.Ben came across the way a lot of romantic hero’s do in books, but he also had subtle differences to him that set him apart. Yes, he was the guy that for someone like Felicity should be unattainable, but who because of who he is and the type of person she is, is the perfect person for her, even if the both of them as things progress don’t entirely see it. Or they let other things get in their way.They were so damn good together that it was impossible not to root for them. Their love story was equal parts emotional and humorous and everything that I imagine real love to be. At times it was a little messy, especially when outside forces get involved and try to take advantage of the girl Felicity once was, even getting their way a time or two, but it’s in the mess sometimes that you find something truly great and for these two they did.Attraction to friendship to love, it was a brilliant progression in terms of the love story itself, but what I took away from this book was so much more. I saw a young woman, who for so long, buried herself away from the rest of the world, stood apart from others because she wasn’t quite like everyone else really come into her own. I saw her fight against those insecurities that we all have and in the end win. And the best part was, she didn’t go through it alone. Ben was right there growing and changing right along with her, making it so when it was time for the cards to be on the table, for it all to come together, they were the best versions of themselves, while still keeping the parts of them that made them who they are and who I happened to love so much.For anyone who is a fan of romantic comedies, this is a must. It will keep you in stitches, while also giving you a wonderfully real romance, complete with some steam, infused with just the right amount of emotion to truly make you feel. This book, at least for this reader, had a little bit of everything and reminded me again as I read exactly what it is about romance that makes me love it so much.

She was real, nerdy and utterly adorable. She is a computer genius but she settles for a low profile job. She is herself despite having been hurt in the past and she is kind and funny.Her entire life changes when she meets Ben. He is handsome and an artist. At first glance, he might seem like a player but not everything is as it seems. He sees Felicity for who she really is and pursues her.Despite their seemingly obvious differences, they click and Felicity feels as if she might have finally found the man she has been waiting for. Add in a bullying girl from Felicity's past and you have the perfect blend of comedy and romance.The book was light on drama and that made the book for me. It was interesting just because of how good the writing is. The author rocks this entertaining read and I couldn't have asked for a more relatable heroine. Excellent work.If you want some drama free romance with a perfectly imperfect kickass heroine, then look no further. If you want a book-boyfriend with a heart of gold then look no more. By Sara Miller I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest review.This book is completely different from what i have been reading and it is like a breath of fresh air! Ben and Felicity are this amazingly refreshing couple, I love how gamer/ kinda geeky she is (and I totally need that R2-D2 tank top because that sounds like something I would wear!) he is this artistic but total kid at heart type of guy and it makes their relationship pretty hilerious since they aren't afraid to be goofy with each other.From their first meeting (run in at a coffee shop and then a case of mistaken identity due to Felicity's high school nemesis) the Sparks fly! Their first date hijinks at the mini golf course was adorable! Both of them are highly competitive and that made for a fun scene of comparing Go Karts to a game of Mario Kart (Much respect for bringing up cool retro games!)All throughout the rest of the book we get too see all the quirks of their relationship, a lot of steamy times, quite a bit of cosplay and other adorable moments. There are a lot of moments also that everybody who has been in those beginning stages of a relationship can relate to. The whole defining the relationship and are we or aren't we exclusive talk, meeting the family. . . Etc.I really enjoyed this book! Felicity is going to be one of my favorite characters of the year I'm sure! She's quirky and different and somewhat unsure of herself but she is totally real and relatable and it feels like I've know her for years.

They are so different from your run of the mill romances in that they deal with the real struggle with faith and how to live as a believer but they are not preachy or a so-called Inspirational romance. In fact, if you are looking for squeaky clean Christians who never make mistakes, struggle or leave the sex behind the closed bedroom door, this isn't the book for you. If, however, you are interested to read a romance about people who fall in love, makes mistakes and also happen to love Jesus, well then, I recommend that you one-click this whole series.In this final book, we get the story of Sophie, who we met in the last book when the Willow Park ladies took her under their wing. When married only 6 months, her journalist husband was captured and held prisoner is Syria for two years. She moved to Willow Park to help her grandfather with his bookstore while waiting to find out what happened to her husband and she becomes more and more part of the community. Thankfully, her husband is released, alive and relatively unharmed.The long journey back to where they were before he was captured is not easy, and there are many heartbreaking stops and starts on the road to reconciliation. The struggles are mostly internal, and this is a quiet yet moving book. I highly recommend it; it tells a heart wrenching story with the promise of new beginnings.I received a free copy of this book but I was not required to write a complimentary review. All opinions are my own. I had also preordered this book, so I bought it too.

Lovely and heartfelt Christmas reunion story By Maria Rose No one expects that a short six months into their marriage, they will be tested beyond all expectations. But that's exactly what happens when Mark, a journalist, is kidnapped and held prisoner for over two years, leaving his new wife Sophie to pick up the pieces and try to keep it together, not knowing whether he is alive or dead. When he is finally released, they are strangers to each other once more. Can they recapture the love that guided them to start their married life in the first place?The Willow Park series is an interesting and always thought provoking set of books with a religious feel combined with a sexy contemporary romance (which mean that sex is included). This is the last one in the series, and a bittersweet ending to a delightful group of real and varied characters that have captured my interest. Sophie and Mark have been tested in ways other couples have not, and because of the publicity surrounding Mark's kidnapping, she moved away from the big city to the small town of Willow Park, where she found friends and a faith community to sustain her. For the most part, she just tries not to think of what's happened with Mark as the stress of that constant worry would be too much to handle. Instead she's left it up to God - and he's answered her prayers now, with her husband's relatively undamaged (physically at least) return. But he's obviously changed while being held captive, become quiet and distant, his coping methods with his captivity clearly evident when he is trying to reconnect with his wife. As the days go by, they re-establish a sexual connection, but Sophie still mourns the loss of the communication between them that is so important to sustaining a marriage. The story has a series of ups and downs, setbacks and progress as the two of them learn to trust each other with thoughts and feelings again. It's important for Sophie to realize that she has changed too, no longer the dependent woman that Mark married but one who has had to take charge of her own life, and built a business and a new life with new friends. She doesn't see that until Mark points it out to her, that the change has gone both ways. As they take those first tentative steps toward reconnection, the reader feels their pain and their heartache, but also their joy when things start to come together for them as a couple again. And the Christmas theme of rebirth and renewal is definitely felt. I can't imagine what it would be like in these circumstances, to have the strong faith needed to overcome such a challenge. But I imagine that one would hope it could be dealt with in this loving and heartfelt manner. 4 stars for an emotionally challenging story that succeeds in showing how love must adapt for marriage to succeed.

That's why I went for 5 stars. I think I was expecting it to be more light-hearted. Don't get me wrong. It wasn't dark and depressing. Following Sophie and Mark struggling to work their way back to a marriage. Is it the marriage they had, or the marriage they could have? They have been apart for 2 years. Both are different people than they were at the start of their marriage, for different reasons. Without the writer going into detail, you get a sense of what Mark has been through and what he was trying to deal with coming home. You could put yourself in his shoes and wonder how you would react in the same situation. The same goes for Sophie's point of view. You get a little more detail about Sophie's life earlier in the book.You so want them to reach a that comfort level they are striving to reach. Mark and Sophie love each other, and you cringe at the awkward moments because you just want them to get there, to be there for each other.For me, this was a very thought provoking romance. It was positive, had it's steamy moments, and a hint of tension as Mark and Sophie navigated the path back to togetherness. This was one of those books that when you finish, you sit back and go Wow.I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I would definitely recommend it.

OVER 18 READING I LOVED THIS BOOK, the storyline is good and entertaining. An it takes a "REALLY" good friend to call a spade a spade and tell someone something they have been hiding from for years, then leave them alone to make their choice (right or wrong) . But when the choice is made can she live with it? Can he face the choice himself, when no one has pointed it out to him? Can they find a way to deal with there separate choices? I can't wait to find out more.
