By jean marie I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.I've only read one other book in the Lost in Oblivion series, but I don't feel that you have to have read the others to be able to read this one.Lila is a the straight-laced "Dragon Lady" that manages the band Oblivion. She's married on paper but is tied to this arrangement in order to help her parents.Nick is the lead guitarist for the band Oblivion and sexy, brooding and a family that causes more pain than anything else.Together they're like oil and water and the banter only helps build the tension. But each is starting to see the others true selves.The sex scenes are so hot! The chemistry is sizzling and the straight-laced woman is finding herself in more ways than one.But nothing this good can last forever or can it? Decisions are made. What are the consequences? Will they survive or be forever shattered? If you've been reading this series, you'll definitely enjoy this sexy bad boy's story. If you haven't read it, go out and get it now. These two authors are amazing together and you won't be disappointed!

I just can’t get excited for them. However, I was given the opportunity to read a Taryn Elliott and Cari Quinn collaboration. I hesitated for about a day. Now understand, that is a TON of hesitation for me, generally it takes me about 3 seconds to one-click a Cari Quinn masterpiece, so a day is like an eternity to think over reading and reviewing a New Adult Rock star Romance.I have to say the dynamic duo did fantastic! From the very beginning the descriptions of the music, the intensity of the members of the band playing in concert and the singing took my breath away!! I was totally sucked in and felt as though I was at the concert – I could hear the music rocking in the background, smell the sweat, see the band on stage in my mind – it was amazing!! Very few authors can suck you into a book or scene so thoroughly. And that was just the beginning!Now, I have not read every story in the Oblivion series, but did not feel lost in Nick’s story at all. I was able to keep up and appreciated the brief explanations that the authors provided when they referred back to a previous story line, refreshing other reader’s memories and keeping those of us just jumping on the boat informed.Of course, these authors know how to bring the smexy and this installment does not disappoint! Tension, lust, desire all flow from the page pulling the reader through the story devouring page after page until the ending (WARNING: Cliff hangar!! Ugh!). It is such a joy when stories in a series get better as it goes along and fresh ideas still come forth. This is a very satisfying read even for people who are only luke warm on this genre, if you love a new adult rock star romance this is probably one of the best! The writing is five stars, but the evil cliff hangar docks them 1!

Thanks to this book, I no longer hate Nick :) By Jennifer_NC You can start the series with this book if you like, but all the foreplay happened in the earlier books -- that's where the fuse was lit.Shattered starts with the BOOM and doesn't look back.Nick and Lila finally acknowledge the sexual tension we have seen throughout the rest of the series. Even if you're not that fond of "Nick the Dick" (I wasn't) or "The Dragon Lady", you will love the way that Cari and Taryn bring them together. The story-line between the two, as well as the incendiary sex will leave you wanting more.If you haven't started the series yet, don't be afraid of starting with this one. Then go read the rest of them -- you'll be a groupie in no time! If you've been a loyal Oblivionite all along, you will NOT be disappointed with this book.I know I had a better appreciation for Nick at the end of the story, and I can't wait to read the next part of their tale in Fused.I was given an ARC of Shattered in exchange for my honest review.

Wonderful and unique story line By Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden Sherri Shoenborn Murray book A Wife and a River, gives us romance in a unexpected place, laughter, praying elderly ladies, and bunch of busybody fisherman.With great descriptions she had me wanting to live in a cabin, to visit the tackle shop, to go fishing (now), and last but not least, wanting to be in the elderly ladies prayer group!With so many unique characters through out this book, my favorite was just hard to pin down. I guess if pressed, I would say it would be Mae. She shines with her love of fishing, she is hardworking, loving, willing to learn, and most of all, a praying woman.Although this book kept my interest throughout it really picked up in the middle for me. I didn't want to put it down. Sounds like I'm in for a series and I can't wait to read more. Wonderful and unique story line.I was given this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.

The story takes place over 11 years and involves Hailey, her best friend Marcus and her brother's best friend Cory. Hailed has been in love with Cory from the moment he walked into her house with her big brother. She knows nothing will ever come of it but she still dreams of what it would be like to be with him. Marcus has been her best friend since forever. They spend their summers at the beach together and as they go through their teen years, they experience many firsts together. He is her rock---always there to support her and lift her up. And he has been in love with her all along. Unbeknownst to Hailey, Cory has fallen in love with her but doesn't act on it because of their age difference (8 years!) and the fact that he is her brother's best friend. When he finally gives in, he breaks Hailey's 18 year old heart and Marcus is there to pick up the pieces as always. When the book flashes forward 5 years, Hailey is interning at her father's law firm with Cory as her mentor. What happens when you face the one man that you have loved for the past 11 years who hurt you in the worst way? How does it play out when you are with another man who you love and has loved you his entire life? I wasn't sure which man to root for in this book because both seemed perfect for Hailey. I didn't want to see either of them hurt but she could only choose one man. In the end, she does what is right for her and she gets her HEA with the man she loves. I'm looking forward to the next book!

I am from New England and I could visualize everything the author was describing from the carefree summers at the beach, fireworks, and summer crushes. I also found Hailey relatable as a New England girl who is a little stubborn, witty, and holds her own with the guys. I loved Marcus as well. He was sweet, caring, and allowed Hailey to grow up without forcing her into anything. I didn't fall for Corey as much. I felt like his relationship with Hailey was under developed due to their age gap, and he was cocky and extremely presumptuous towards the end. Either way, I felt like the author made the choice between the 2 guys difficult because they both clearly wanted what was best for Hailey no matter what the outcome. It left the ball in Hailey's court to follow her heart, and she does what she feels is right in the end. I hope the guy who isn't chosen will be in another book in the series because I was rooting for him to find love too! I couldn't put this book down because I had to find out who she was going to choose. It really lived up to its name because you have to wait until the end, and 11 years in book time, to find out who she picks. This was a great debut by this author and I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

This is the sweet coming of age story for Hailey, Marcus, and Cory. If you haven't read it, grab it!Hailey is the type of friend I wanted to be, wanted to have, and the woman I want to be when I'm grown up. She's fun, carefree, and loves to surf. We watch her transition from child to womanhood as the years go by at the beach. The transition isn't easy and by the time she graduates, Hailey has already experienced heartache.Marcus, Hailey's best friend and childhood companion. He's the quintessential boy next door or in this case, the kid across the street. His feelings for Hailey are resolute. He watches her fall in love, picks up the pieces when her heart gets broken, and is her rock in times of crisis. His loyalty to Hailey doesn't go unnoticed and it's one of the reasons I fell in love with him.Cory, the third character. He just happens to tag along with his college best-friend, Jake, one Thanksgiving and meets a young Hailey. As the years go by, strong feelings develop. While Cory likes the ladies, it is obvious that he is driven and passionate. He's also pretty hot.The journey these three take into adulthood is not without its ups and downs. Heart ache, upheaval, love, and happiness. All play factors, but it comes down to the choices that are made. Which one is it going to be?Dawn Stanton wrote an amazing book with such down to earth characters. You are taken on an eleven year journey - from childhood to adulthood and get to bond with the characters. Pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

About the Author Shane A. Mason hails from the rugged South Island of New Zealand where a lot of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings were shot. He wrote his first novel at 18 but upon reflection decide it was a whiney teenage agnst ridden diatribe and shelved it deciding he needed more living and experience. 20 years later after marriage, divorce, time spent in a cult, attaining a black belt in karate, and training and working as a naturopath, he watched the six DVD series on the making of Lord of the Rings. This led to an epiphany fueled panic as he realised he had a trail of unfinished novels screaming out to be finished. Having devoured the Harry Potter series and got frustrated with the eventual predictability of the story lines (come on – let’s face it – they got formulaic), he decided finish his semi-fantasy action-adventure young adult novel based around his Prema Ayuveda training. Prema Ayurveda is ancient Indian mind-body-soul medicine.

A High dose of action, adventure & Mystery By Njkinny The first thing that attracted me to this book was the cover which is presented like a high adventure comic book cover and promises high drama and action. Beautiful and eye catching, it appeals to the reader at first glance. The story is of four cousins and their misadventures while on the mission to find their missing parents. Shane creates a lively and vivid picture of a setting set amidst beauty and nature. The characters are down to earth people and although their situations are very fantastical yet they are able to connect with the reader.The story starts slowly but soon picks up pace to give many nail biting moments. The plot is novel and unconventional and feels like a breath of fresh air. I loved the story and the cousins. They made me relive my days of reading Secret Seven and the Famous Five. :)The book could have been made more concise and the length shortened. But other than this The Omega Children: The return of the Marauders- Book 1 is a very engaging read from a very promising author and sure to prove a great timepass on a holiday. I give it a 4 out of 5 and look forward to reading more from the author. A very promising start to a very interesting series, if you love books with fantasy, adventure and drama then this book is for you. :)This review is also available on the blog Njkinny's World of Books

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Clarification would be helpful. By Brian Chrisman Writing style is reasonable and personalities are distinct. World development is a little confusing and doesn't really resolve (at least in a reasonable time... maybe subsequent installments?)I'm not completely certain if this is intentional, but there are a few pieces which appear to be scientology related, such as the children 'being clear' and 'clearing themselves'. There are a number of odd rituals referenced in this book that seem to be related. At about 75% complete I wasn't certain what the book is about. There's a lot of moving of the characters from one scene to another and a lot of dialog surrounding "We've just got to figure this out." and "We've got to keep moving forward." and "We don't have all the facts." and "I need a hypothesis.", "What about my 'hyperthesis'?" (whatever that is, it's not really discussed adequately, though it is discussed).I'd recommend removing any references to religions (intended or otherwise) that aren't clear and understood by a baseline audience (unless this book is intended for an audience consisting of believers of a certain religion, in which case make that clear).I'm likely to update this review later.

I didn't realise how much I enjoyed it until I started to miss the 'place' I went to whilst engaged in the novel - and that is a great sign. Mason has created an alternative world that these children are 'adventuring' in. There are core principles which I loved, the kids have a spirituality about them that is felt, not described. I am looking forward to my child being old enough to share this with, and have a copy ready to give my 12 year old nephew for his upcoming birthday.I'm glad it is a series, and look forward to reading the second book in the saga.
