The novel is really enticing and the main character with all her adventures and life twists, Judith is so adorable, her feminine energy and strong determination is priceless. To solve the mystery of father’s death and save her love Daniel from the prison is not the matter of one day. The story is getting more and more exciting with new events on the way. I absolutely enjoyed the storyline and loved the way the author revealed different parts of the mystery slowly. Not boring at all, even some tension is in the air. Great job, I will follow this series for sure!

Book1 Song at Dawn is FREE - FINALIST in The Wishing Shelf Awards Winner of the Global Ebook Award for Best Historical Fiction1152: Les-Baux-de-Provence'By far the best historical fiction I have read this year! - Rabia Tanveer, December 2015, for Readers' Favorite  Summoned to the court of Les Baux, Estela and her lover, Dragonetz, are embroiled in two rival claims for power as their feuding liege lords gather in Provence. Although Estela is reluctant to leave her idyll with her young child Musca, and her pursuit of Arabic medicine, she welcomes the chance to show her musical skills and to support Dragonetz, who must use his swordsmanship to play peacemaker.   The visit of the Comte de Barcelone to Les Baux sparks bitter memories of the recent civil war and Lady Etiennette des Baux has no intention of ceding to her overlord. Nor does she plan to remain a widow. With good friends on both sides, Dragonetz weaves a precarious path through the rival factions at court where an uneasy truce prevails behind the chivalry of hunt and tournament.  Meanwhile, Estela faces her own demons. Confronted with her childhood abusers, threatened and attacked, she confides in her friends. Unfortunately, one of those friends is Dragonetz' worst enemy and Estela has no idea of what he is capable.    In this third volume of the Troubadours Quartet, Jean Gill, the 'master of historical intrigue', continues to weave the gripping adventures of Dragonetz and Estela seamlessly into real historical events. Medieval France comes alive in all its facets, from healing with leeches to training a goshawk. Watch the book trailer youtube.com/watch?v=EhJgJURO_7g'Page-turning intrigue in the best historical fiction tradition' - J.G. The story continues to follow the troubairitz Estela de Matin and her lover Dragonetz los Pros as they navigate the often troubled waters of political intrigue in medieval France. Now reunited with their infant son Musca and Estela beloved guard dog Nici they have settled into family life in Marselha. But their peaceful existence is soon to be disturbed by the outside world. As the story progresses old friends and enemies return and the maneuvering of those in power as well as those who seek it, plays out against the colorful backdrop of the period. As with the first two books in the series, this book is well researched. Gill’s beautifully written descriptions of the region are so engaging it’s as if the reader has traveled back in time. Along with this are her vibrant images of the characters. Her ability to keep characters lively throughout the series speaks highly of her talent as a writer.Particularly fascinating in this installment is Estela’s growing interest in the pharmacopeia of the period. This adds yet another fascinating dimension to the character. The character of Dragonetz has also developed beautifully. His love for and devotion to Estela has become even more evident giving him a depth that is compelling.By the end of this portion of the quartet Estela and Dragonetz are fully committed to one another. Each has released the ties of past relationships, family and friends, dedicating themselves to each other, their child, and the true friends who have supported them throughout. Their devotion is inspiring.Another positive for Ms Gill is her addition of a list of characters and the identification of whether they are real historical figures or fictional characters of her creation. She has interspersed the two so skillfully that it would be difficult to know which was which without this explanation.Gill is quite skilled at ending her books at a point that leaves the reader eager for more but not disturbed by a sudden jolt of separation. I look forward to the next edition. No one writes historical fiction as well as Jean Gill.

The best historical fiction novel I've read this year By Susanna This is the third novel in The Troubadours Series but it can easily stand-alone for readers new to Jean Gill’s fascinating series about the political intrigue and culture of French court life in the twelfth century. I instantly felt at home back in the glittering and scheming medieval world of Dragonetz and Estela. The strong opening of this novel hooked me immediately; it is wonderful to read fiction were even the personalities of the minor characters leap off the page with wiliness and humour. Jean Gill is a strong writer who sweeps you along into her world and never leaves you struggling to understand the motivation of the characters or the historical background of their realm.Thoroughly recommended.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. The Middle Ages come to life By Claire Hamlisch When I read a good book in a series I look forward to the next one. In this case I feel I should reread the first two as well. In Plaint for Provence there appears to be more historical research than in Song at Dawn and Bladesong. One of the best things about this quartet is that it is a pleasure to meet up with the hero and heroine again. Dragonetz, Estela (and her Pyrenees Mountain Dog) and Malik (whom I would have liked to have read more about) are believable, if somewhat romanticized, characters and I enjoy spending time with them. Estela has developed her interest in medicine and Ms Gill has used references and chapter headings to works on medieval medicine that render the text more alive and at the same time more historically authentic.I like the fact that Estela's career as a troubadour (or troubairitz) makes her a "modern" woman having to choose between work and family. In the twenty first century we hear a lot about rape as a weapon of war; it's interesting to learn in Plaint for Provence that in 1152 matrimony wasan equally important strategic weapon... The character of Sancha, who appears to be a transvestite, is also "modern" in a context that dates back to the Middle Ages.Jean Gill has a way of sharing historical information without lecturing that makes her historical novels wonderful to read. For example, Dragonetz's mention of the Comte de Barcelone is followed by:" 'Who is married to Petronilla of Aragon,' murmured Estela like a well-schooled child." Training of knights is strangely reminiscent of ballet when they are told to show first and second and third positions. Communication in the twelfth century is a recurring theme with a messenger plied with drink and locked in a public house and pigeons delivering messages to the right or sometimes wrong persons. Mixing the latter with a day of hawking was a stroke of genius on Ms Gill's part.Ms Gill manages to write in a style that is believably "antique" without seeming stilted. This paragraph gives a good example of this balance: "He let the message reach him, released in the purity of his lover's song. To poison what was good and what was beautiful would always be easier than to proclaim it. But poison only worked if the body allowed the toxins. Once the poison was identified, it could be purged. And Dragonetz had no problem identifying the poison."I recommend this book to all and sundry for the above mentioned reasons and many more.

If your reading this book, you probably read part one.......if not, READ IT :)In my review for part one, I told you Ms. Sadistic would be wanting her pleasure in books two and three, well, I was right !!!! I blubbered like a baby.Poor Pollyanna. You can feel her heartbreak when she catches Kyr in the arms of another women. And like the typical male, Kyr thinks he can have his cake and eat it too. He realizes he doesn't want his ex, but not until he almost loses his family. I can't wait to read part three.......make him grovel, Ms. Tee ;)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A Few Heart Strings Shorter By Erani Kole *received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*Ugh, totally cried. T_T And Kyr wins the Biggest Jerk Award. Expanding on the eight years of marriage between Kyrillos and Pollyanna, the couple learn what it's like to be married. Children, the struggles with staying at home vs working, dealing with hubby's constant need to chain you to his side, and figuring out if you really made a mistake in saying 'I do'. I enjoyed the drama, not so much the heartbreak. Too many feels with this one, mostly because of one's indecision and the other's need to make their partner happy. Perhaps a little too much emotion for such a fast pace story, though the pace was very nice with the highlighted moments. As with all her work, Tee's style of writing pulled me in and made it harder to take the emotional blows that came. I loved the set up and I ADORE the precious children that they had, especially the twins. Despite being so young, I loved what their contributed to the story. It's definitely different from her other books because of the children and the thought of a perfect marriage working on their already waning trust, but what came out of it was something I probably didn't want to know until it happened. It ends on a cliff hanger with the final part coming out five days later so it's not that much of a horror to wait. I loved Pollyanna and seeing the slight changes in her maturity but I look forward to seeing her finding her own voice.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Wow! Love This One! By Angel A lot of time goes by in this book, 8 years, in fact. It starts with the marriage of Kyrillos and Pollyanna, then continues to hit some important points of their marriage. I won't give anything away (no spoilers!), but there's definitely some emotional tumult. As with any Marian Tee story, there were tears. I love that her books are so well written that when a character is hurt, I cry. I love the emotional catharsis that comes with reading her books. And this one is another great love story by the talented Marian Tee!I received a copy of Pollyanna and the Greek Billionaire 2 in exchange for an honest review.

3 Girls. 2 Lies. 1 Book Club…and $50,000.

A new, standalone romantic comedy from #1 Amazon Humor bestselling author Gina LaManna...

To try a Gina LaManna book for free, please sign up for my newsletter at www.ginalamanna.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn’t expect to spend my annual company party sobbing in a photo booth, wearing nothing but a homemade grass skirt and a pair of coconuts. I also didn’t expect to lose my apartment, my job, and my boyfriend in a rapid series of embarrassing events. Events that, unfortunately, also landed me in a bit of hot water, and left me with a secret that only money can fix. So when the opportunity arose to enter my book club buddies into a contest for a chance to win $50,000, I took it...I just forgot to tell them about it. And guess what? We won. Which poses a problem, since I didn’t bother to read the fine print. Now, I need to find a way to convince Alex and Gigi, two gems I’ve never even met outside of a computer screen, to recreate a girls’ trip with me – photos and all – by the end of the week. What could possibly go wrong? ** ** Girl Tripping is a full-length, standalone chick-lit/romantic comedy novel. It features a strong set of girlfriends, a sweet romantic interest, and some sassy heroines on the adventure of a lifetime. Note: It is rated PG-13 for sarcasm and some strong language. No graphic gore or sex.

By Illinois Reader GIRL TRIPPING is a fun and sweet book about online friends becoming real life friends. This topic wouldn't have worked back in the day of pen-pals, because letters took so long to go back and forth. Ms LaManna has captured the electronic friendships of today's society and brought us a story that is guaranteed to make you chuckle, laugh, and maybe even cry. It tells of the kind of friendships we all long for no matter what our age. I loved the things the three women "hid" from each other in their on-line relationships, and how the truth prevailed in their very short road trip. I also loved the resulting stereotypes Lena had as a result of the other two not telling certain details about their lives. There were some major misfits in activities planned as a result. But most of all I liked Lena's creativity in her journal application and mad rush to document these activities. From start to finish things didn't work out as I expected-or quite as Lena expected either. One thing however, that I can say for sure, you will love this book if you have ever had a close friend-even without going on a road trip. Ms LaManna writes from the heart. Buy a copy now and have a wonderful book to relax with after the bustle of the holiday. (And even if you aren't cooking Thanksgiving dinner, you deserve a chance to relax!)

Look, I'm one of the biggest animal lovers in the world, but no way would I risk prison to kidnap a dog. And if the dog needed surgery that bad and you couldn't afford it, why not let the person who can afford it keep and take care of the dog? And just for the record, what the heck kind of surgery did the dog need that was so dang expensive? You need to win $50k to pay for your dog's surgery?!? Oh, uh, okay...And the boss in the photo booth...right. First he tricks you into wearing a grass skirt and coconut bra to an office function (huh??), then basically attacks you in the photo booth. And your solution to this is to...get drunk at the party? Really? How about a sexual harassment suit? Think that might teach him a lesson? Sheesh...And one more thing...somehow I truly don't think the First Lady of the United States is going to go out of her way to make sure you win a photo contest. I mean, c'mon, really? So I get that it's supposed to be a light-hearted, funny read. I semi-enjoyed it. But I just couldn't concentrate because I kept interrupting myself, guffawing over the outrageous storylines. Then again, that was pretty funny...

Gina LaManna is a great young author that is perfecting her craft with every new novel and this one is my favourite to date.Lena is a New Yorker who is having a bad month. She breaks up with her boyfriend, looses her job because of said boyfriend and he won't relinquish her puppy, Harry. The only good thing going for her at the moment is a competition she entered, and won, regarding a trip she fabricated about her book buddies. So in order to claim the money, they try to replicate the tip with photos only things never seem to go as planned for poor Lena.Gina is fast becoming a new one click author for me. She never disappoints. She has a knack of creating characters with depth and adds the right amount of humor. Of course with a touch or more of romance and you have won me over. The other great part about this book is having my own little book buddy group, I could relate to parts of this story and the places the girls visit on their trip - I felt like I could have been a part of it. And if so, just call me Gigi! Awesome work Miss LaManna - can not wait to see what you have for us next.

"Why are they sending their representative instead of meeting with us themselves?"Dillon Westmoreland glanced across the room at his cousin Bailey. He'd figured she would be the one with questions. He had called a family meeting of his six brothers and eight cousins to apprise them of the phone call he'd received yesterday. The only person missing from this meeting was his youngest brother, Bane, who was on a special assignment somewhere with the navy SEALs. "I presume the reason they are sending someone outside their family is to play it safe, Bailey. In a way, I understand them doing so. They have no proof that what we're claiming is the truth.""But why would we claim them as relatives if they aren't?" Bailey persisted. "When our cousin James contacted you a few years ago about our relationship with them, I don't recall you questioning him."Dillon chuckled. "Only because James didn't give me a chance to question anything. He showed up one day at our Blue Ridge office with his sons and nephews in tow and said that we were kin. I couldn't deny a thing when looking into Dare's face, which looked just like mine.""Um, maybe we should have tried that approach." Bailey tapped a finger to her chin. "Just showed up and surprised them.""Rico didn't think that was a good idea. From his research, it seems the Outlaws are a pretty close-knit family who don't invite outsiders into their fold," Megan Westmoreland Claiborne said. Rico, her husband, was the private investigator hired by the Westmorelands to find members of their extended family."And I agreed with Rico," Dillon said. "Claiming kinship is something some people don't do easily. We're dealing with relatives whose last name is Outlaw. They had no inkling of a Westmoreland connection until Rico dropped the bomb on them. If the shoe was on the other foot and someone showed up claiming they were related to me, I would be cautious, as well.""Well, I don't like it," Bailey said, meeting the gazes of her siblings and cousins."We've picked up on that, Bay," Ramsey Westmoreland, her eldest brother said, pulling her ear. He then switched his gaze to Dillon. "So when is their representative coming?""His name is Walker Rafferty and he's arriving tomorrow. I thought that would be perfect since everyone is home for Aidan and Jillian's wedding this weekend. The Atlanta Westmorelands will be here as well, so he'll get to meet them, too.""What does he intend to find out about us?" Bailey wanted to know."That you, Bane, Adrian and Aidan are no longer hellions," Stern Westmoreland said, grinning."Go to—" Bailey stopped and glanced at everyone staring at her. "Go wash your face, Stern.""Stop trying to provoke her, Stern," Dillon said, shaking his head. "Rafferty probably wants to get to know us so he can report back to them that we're an okay group of people. Don't take things personally. Like I said, it's just a precaution on their part." He paused as if an idea had come to him. "And, Bailey?""Yes?""Since you're the most apprehensive about Mr. Raf-ferty's visit, I want you to pick him up from the airport.""Me?""Yes, you. And I expect you to make a good impression. Remember, you'll be representing the entire family.""Bailey representing the entire family? The thought of that doesn't bother you, Dil?" Canyon Westmoreland said, laughing. "We don't want to scare him off. Hell, she might go ballistic on him if he rubs her the wrong way.""Cut it out, Canyon. Bailey knows how to handle herself and she will make a good impression," Dillon said, ignoring his family's skeptical looks. "She'll do fine.""Thanks for the vote of confidence, Dillon.""You got it, Bailey."Bailey knows how to handle herself and she will make a good impression.Dillon's words rang through Bailey's head as she rushed into the airport fifteen minutes late. And she couldn't blame her delay on traffic. That morning she had been called into her boss's office to be told she'd been promoted to features editor. That called for a celebration and she'd rushed back to her desk to call her best friend, Josette Carter. Of course Josette had insisted they meet for lunch. And now Bailey was late doing the one thing Dillon had trusted her to do.But she refused to accept that she was off to a bad start …even if she was. If Mr. Rafferty's plane was late it would not hurt her feelings one iota. In fact today she would consider it a blessing. She headed toward baggage claim and paused to look at an overhead monitor. Mr. Rafferty's plane had been on time. Just her luck.Upon reaching the luggage carousel for his plane, she glanced around. She had no idea what the man looked like. She had tried looking him up online last night and couldn't find him. Josette had suggested Bailey make a sign with his name, but Bailey had rolled her eyes at the idea. Now, considering how crowded the airport was, she acknowledged that might have been a good idea.Bailey checked out the people retrieving their luggage. She figured the man was probably in his late forties or early fifties. The potbellied, fiftysomething-year-old man who kept glancing at his watch with an anxious expression must be her guy. She was moving in his direction when a deep husky rumble stopped her in her tracks."I believe you're looking for me, Miss Westmoreland."Bailey turned and her gaze connected with a man who filled her vision. He was tall, but that wasn't the reason her brain cells had suddenly turned to mush; she was used to tall men. Her brothers and cousins were tall. It was the man's features. Too handsome for words. She quickly surmised it had to be his eyes that had made her speechless. They were so dark they appeared a midnight blue. Just staring into them made her pulse quicken to a degree that ignited shivers in her stomach. And then there was his skin tone—a smooth mahogany. He had a firm jaw and a pair of luscious-looking lips. His hair was cut low and gave him a rugged, sexy look.Gathering her wits, she said, "And you are?"He held his hand out to her. "Walker Rafferty."She accepted his handshake. It was firm, filled with authority. Those things she expected. What she didn't expect was the feeling of warmth combined with a jolt of energy that surged through her body. She quickly released his hand."Welcome to Denver, Mr. Rafferty.""Thanks. Walker will do."She tried to keep her pulse from being affected by the throaty sound of his voice. "All right, Walker. And I'm—""Bailey Westmoreland. I know. I recognized you from Facebook.""Really? I looked you up but didn't find a page for you.""You wouldn't. I'm probably one of the few who don't indulge."She couldn't help wondering what else he didn't—or did—indulge in, but decided to keep her curiosity to herself. "If you have all your bags, we can go. I'm parked right outside the terminal.""Just lead the way."She did and he moved into step beside her. He was certainly not what she'd expected. And her attraction to him wasn't expected, either. She usually preferred men who were clean shaven, but there was something about Walker Rafferty's neatly trimmed beard that appealed to her."So you're friends with the Outlaws?" she asked as they continued walking."Yes. Garth Outlaw and I have been best friends for as long as I can remember. I'm told by my parents our friendship goes back to the time we were both in diapers.""Really? And how long ago was that?""Close to thirty-five years ago."She nodded. That meant he was eight years older than she was. Or seven, since she had a birthday coming up in a few months."You look just like your picture."She glanced at him. "What picture?""The one on Facebook."She changed it often enough to keep it current. "It's supposed to work that way," she said, leading him through the exit doors. And because she couldn't hold back her thoughts she said, "So you're here to spy on us."He stopped walking, causing her to stop, as well. "No. I'm here to get to know you.""Same thing."He shook his head. "No, I don't think it is." She frowned. "Either way, you plan to report back to the Outlaws about us? Isn't that right?""Yes, that's right."Her frown deepened. "They certainly sound like a suspicious bunch.""They are. But seeing you in person makes a believer out of me."She lifted a brow. "Why?""You favor Charm, Garth's sister." Bailey nodded. "How old is Charm?""Twenty-three.""Then, you're mistaken. I'm three years older so that means she favors me." Bailey then resumed walking.Walker Rafferty kept a tight grip on the handle of his luggage while following Bailey Westmoreland to the parking lot. She was a very attractive woman. He'd known Bailey was a beauty because of her picture. But he hadn't expected that beauty to affect him with such mind-boggling intensity. It had been a while—years—since he'd been so aware of a woman. And her scent didn't help. It had such an alluring effect."So do you live in Fairbanks?"He looked at her as they continued walking. Her cocoa-colored face was perfect—all of her features, including a full pair of lips, were holding his attention. The long brown hair that hung around her shoulders made her eyes appear a dark chocolate. "No, I live on Kodiak Island. It's an hour away from Fairbanks by air."She bunched her forehead. "Kodiak Island? Never heard of the place."He smiled. "Most people haven't, although it's the second largest island in the United States. Anchorage and Fairbanks immediately come to mind when one thinks of Alaska. But Kodiak Island is way prettier than the two of them put together. Only thing is, we have more bears living there than people."He could tell by her expression that she thought he was teasing. "Trust me, I'm serious," he added. She nodded, but he had a feeling she didn't believe him. "How do people get off the island?""The majority of them use the ferry, but air is most convenient for me. I have a small plane."She lifted a brow. "You do?""Yes." There was no need to tell her that he'd learned to fly in the marines. Or that Garth had learned right along with him. What he'd told her earlier was true. He and Garth Outlaw had been friends since their diaper days and had not only gone to school together but had also attended the University of Alaska before doing a stint in the marines. The one thing Garth hadn't done with Walker was remain with him in California after they left the military. And Garth had tried his hardest to talk Walker out of staying. Too bad he hadn't listened. He'd been back in Alaska close to ten years now and he swore he would never leave again. Only Garth could get him off the island this close to November, his son's birthday month. Had his son lived he would be celebrating his eleventh birthday. Thinking of Connor sent a sharp pain through Walker, one he always endured this time of year.He kept walking beside Bailey, tossing looks her way. Not only did she have striking features but she had a nice body, as well. She looked pretty damn good in her jeans, boots and short suede jacket.Deciding to remove his focus from her, he switched it to the weather. Compared to Alaska this time of year, Denver was nice. Too damn nice. He hoped the week here didn't spoil him."Does it snow here often?" he asked, to keep the conversation going. It had gotten quiet. Too quiet. And he was afraid his mind would dwell on just how pretty she was."Yes, usually a lot this time of year but our worst days are in February. That's when practically everything shuts down. But I bet it doesn't snow here as much as in Alaska."He chuckled. "You'd bet right. We have long, extremely cold days. You get used to being snowed in more so than not. If you're smart, you'll prepare for it because an abundance of snow is something you can count on.""So what do you do on Kodiak Island?" she asked. They had reached her truck. The vehicle suited her. Although she was definitely feminine, she didn't come across as the prissy type. He had a feeling Bailey Westmoreland could handle just about anything, including this powerful-looking full-size pickup. He was of the mind that there was something innately sensuous about a woman who drove a truck. Especially a woman who was strikingly sexy when she got out of it.Knowing she was waiting for an answer to his question, he said, "I own a livestock ranch there. Hemlock Row.""A cattle ranch?""No, I raise bison. They can hold their own against a bear.""I've eaten buffalo a few times. It's good.""Any bison from Hemlock Row is the best," he said, and didn't care if it sounded as if he was bragging. He had every right to. His family had been in the cattle business for years, but killer bears had almost made them lose everything they had. After his parents' deaths he'd refused to sell and allow Hemlock Row to become a hunting lodge or a commercial fishing farm."Well, you'll just have to send me some to try.""Maybe you'll get to visit the area one day.""Doubt it. I seldom leave Denver," she said, releasing the lock on the truck door for him."Why?""Everything I need is right here. I've visited relatives in North Carolina, Montana and Atlanta on occasion, and I've traveled to the Middle East to visit my cousin Del-aney once.""She's the one who's married to a sheikh, right?" he asked, opening the truck door."Jamal was a sheikh. Now he's king of Tehran. Evidently you've done research on the Westmorelands, so why the need to visit us?"He held her gaze over the top of the truck. "You have a problem with me being here, Bailey?""Would it matter if I did?""Probably not, but I still want to know how you feel about it."He watched her nibble her bottom lip as if considering what he'd said. He couldn't help studying the shape of her mouth and thinking she definitely had a luscious pair of lips."I guess it bothers me that the Outlaws think we'd claim them as relatives if they weren't," she said, her words breaking into his thoughts."You have to understand their position. To them, the story of some woman giving up her child before dying after a train wreck sounds pretty far out there.""As far-out as it might sound, that's what happened. Besides, all it would take is a DNA test to prove whether or not we're related. That should be easy enough.""Personally, I don't think that's the issue. I've seen photographs of your brothers and cousins and so have the Outlaws. The resemblance can't be denied. The Westmorelands and the Outlaws favor too much for you not to be kin.""Then, what is the issue and why are you here? If the Outlaws want to acknowledge we're related but prefer not to have anything to do with us, that's fine."Walker liked her knack for speaking what she thought. "Not all of them feel that way, Bailey. Only Bart.""Who's Bart?" she asked, breaking eye contact with him to get into the truck."Bart's their father," he answered, getting into the truck, as well. "Bart's father would have been the baby that was supposedly given to his grandmother, Amelia Outlaw.""And Amelia never told any of them the truth about what happened?" Bailey asked, snapping her seat belt around her waist. A waist he couldn't help notice was pretty small. He could probably wrap his arms around it twice. He snapped his seat belt on, thinking the truck smelled like her. "Evidently she didn't tell anyone.""I wonder why?""She wouldn't be the first person to keep an adoption a secret, if that's what actually happened. From what Rico Claiborne said, Clarice knew she was dying and gave her baby to Amelia, who had lost her husband in that same wreck. She probably wanted to put all that behind her and start fresh with her adopted son."After she maneuvered out of the parking lot, he decided to change the subject. "So what do you do?"She glanced over at him. "Don't you know?""It wasn't on Facebook."She chuckled. "I don't put everything online. And to answer your question, I work for my sister-in-law's magazine, Simply Irresistible. Ever heard of it?""Can't say that I have. What kind of magazine is it?""One for today's up-and-coming woman. We have articles on health, beauty, fashion and, of course, men."He held her gaze when the truck came to a stop. "Why 'of course' on men?""Because men are so interesting.""Are we?""Not really. But since some women think so, we have numerous articles about your gender."He figured she wanted him to ask what some of those articles were, but he didn't intend to get caught in that trap. Instead, he asked, "What do you do at the magazine?""As of today I'm a features editor. I got promoted.""Congratulations.""Thanks." An easy smile touched her lips, lips that were nice to look at and would probably taste just as nice."I find that odd," he said, deciding to stay focused on their conversation and not her lips. The vehicle slowed due to traffic and she looked at him."What do you find odd?""That your family owns a billion-dollar company yet you don't work there."

I have read just about every book that Mrs. Jackson has written, and every Westmoreland story. This book did not come close to eliciting the desire not to put this book down. There was such a huge hype only to be left feeling unfulfilled. It was just okay. Given that these are the last two Westmoreland stories, I was hoping for more. But, on the other hand the previous books were so fantastic, I guess it would be difficult to top yourself after soooo many successes. I feel a little sad at its ending. I will miss the Westmorelands as though I actually rejoiced in their triumphs, and commensurate in their sorrows, I look forward to Bane's story and the hope of a Outlaw Family series. Brenda Jackson you have always, and will remain my favorite romance writer.

DA Fortner CONCEPT The concept of the story the next installment in the Denver Westmoreland series finds a woman willing to brea By DaFortner UrbanDivaz Review: DA FortnerCONCEPTThe concept of the story the next installment in the Denver Westmoreland series finds a woman willing to break her own rules for love.STORYRule number one for Bailey Westmoreland: Never fall for a man who would take her away from her tight-knit family's Colorado home. So why is she following rancher Walker Rafferty all the way to Alaska? Bailey tells herself she owes the sexy loner an apology, and once she gets there, it's only right to stay and help him when he's injured…isn't it? Before long, Bailey realizes home might be where you make it—if Walker is ready to take all she has to offer.CHARACTERSBailey Westmoreland has been very independent ever since she was one of the hellions with her cousins causing havoc after their parents’ death. She has been adamant that she would never leave Westmoreland country for anything or anyone, yet when she meets Walker Rafferty, he has her singing a different tune. Bailey is portrayed as the independent, bossy and nosy little sister/cousin of the Denver Westmorelands and when Walker appears on the scene to come and check out the family, she as the outspoken person she is, tells him how she really feels about the visit. Walker Rafferty’s visit to Denver is to gather information but he doesn’t bargain on the little spitfire Bailey, nor the attraction he instantly feels for her. When Bailey finds out Walker’s past and a secret is revealed, Walker cuts his visit short and travels back to Alaska. Bailey, willing to admit she is wrong follows Walker to Alaska to apologize. The chemistry between these two is obvious and it is obvious that Walker was able to make Bailey rethink her rules.DIALOGUEThe dialogue was appropriate for this story and allowed the story to follow.STRUCTUREThe structure of the story flowed and engaged the reader. The chemistry between the characters is on point and readers will experience the characters feelings throughout the story.OVERALLBreaking Bailey’s Rules was a good read. Readers will see Bailey meet her match with Walker and realizes that he is the one to make her question her rules and even break them. This was a good read.

You can’t control the heart when it wants to love. Mrs. Jackson reminds us of this each time she pens a romance. She always finds a way to make each story intriguing and fulfilling and it’s no difference with this one. There are very touching moments that pull at your heart, fun moments between the two characters where you laugh and say “really”, and then there is the HOT stuff that Mrs. Jackson is known for in all her books. The two main characters in this story will eventually discover the process of realizing love cannot be control by rules. Bailey had her rules that she had established and lived by for a long time, and it works for her. Walker also had certain rules that worked for him and allowed him to become a loner, something he accepted and was happy doing so. As much as Bailey and Walker wanted to live by their rules, neither realized meeting would result in them being so attracted and intrigue with each other that rules they created were being broken without them knowing it.Can a feisty, tell it like she see it woman handle a reserved, easy-going, loner that have no patience for people getting into his business? Well, they both soon find out that they can come to an agreeable understanding that they both need to ease up on their rules just enough to be social among other things. Walker came to Denver only to find out who the Westmorelands where for a family friend that is supposedly related them and Bailey was chosen to be the family representative to pick up Walker from the airport. So now, the story begins with two people attracted to each other but holding on to rules that they live by. Can they still maintain who they are as individuals and find something enjoyable, like love in the process? Will they or will they not break their rules? Read this book, there is so much more than rules inside in this book and you will be surprised to find all that’s revealed.Pick up your copy of this new Westmoreland Family Novel to discover how Bailey and Walker learn that rules are definitely meant to be broken.

For Rhett and Kinsley it gave them hope and it also showed them that regardless of what others say or think, real and true love can never be kept apart. One picture changed it all. The way the one that loves you sees you can change your outlook on life and that is exactly what Rhett did for Kinsley. She was the outcast the one that others looked at and pitied, she lived in the shadows of her jock brother and kept to herself. Then Rhett and his picture happened, that day would be imprinted in her heart forever.Kinsley, saw more than the popular jock when she saw Rhett. Deep down she knew he was more than what he was portraying. He never treated her in a negative way nor did he ever make her feel like she didn't belong. He was the guy every girl in school wanted. Rhett was the football player with his future planned out for him, courtesy of his momma. He had a secret and his secret was he was in love with the girl no one in school expected him to be interested in. He had no idea how to approach her, but one day fate was on his side and like they say the rest is history. This book is one I honestly could not put down. I fell in love with Rhett and how much he loved Kinsley. Gia threw me a curveball in the story. One I never saw coming. A curveball that made the story so much more interesting. I loved every minute of In Pieces, I was happy, sad, hurt, and ecstatic while I was lost in the world that Gia created.I am honestly a huge fan and look forward to releases from Gia. She knows how to tell a story and keep the reader captivated with her words. This is a must read story, two hearts that were meant to be one. A love that will stand the test of time.

She is a newer author but with every title she turns out her work gets better and better. And this cover is just stunning! In Pieces is different from her normal stories but a good book nonetheless. I couldn't help but fall for Kinsley. This girl had been through so much in her young life that I couldn't do anything but root for her to get some happy.Kinsley West has lived quite the life for her eighteen years. Having survived more than one loss she is just biding her time until she can pursue her dream. She was planning to keep her head down, do her work, build her portfolio and make her escape but then Rhett Taylor had to snap his way into her world. This guy may not have lived the life that Kinsley has but he has the heart and understanding that is just what she needs. He is not your typical high school star athlete. I loved that, through his actions, he was able to let her be a teenager and experience the things that she never had before; like her first kiss. His patience and gentleness is what really endeared him to me. He gave her what she had always wanted and a few things she didn't know she needed. I loved seeing her confidence blossom and her really come into her own as their relationship progressed. But when life happens, as it always does, Kinsley's carefully constructed world comes spiraling down once again. Rhett was amazing, however, his mom made me want to jump into my reader and smack her silent. Her words hurt me and I physically recoiled from the pure venom that just poured out of her. This sent everything spinning out of control. Even through the hurt and pain the one thing that didn't change was how much Kinsley and Rhett loved each other. And that love was pure and deep and true and unconditional. My heart was pounding and I was reading as fast as I could to see what would become of their situation.I can't say enough about how much this book moved me. Gia Riley delivered a story that is so much more than a high school romance. It is about handling the curves that life throws your way with grace and humility but not losing yourself or your dreams in the process. It is about how priorities change but that doesn't mean you're defeated. Kinsley and Rhett are beautifully flawed and wonderfully human. Their faults and their fears make them more realistic and likable. In Pieces truly captured my heart (and that is saying a lot because young adult is not my thing at all). This book is full of heart and is sure to melt yours.

And I want him to treat me like I matter."In Pieces is a new, YA offering by Author Gia Riley. It's a story of young and first love."I'd rather stay invisible than stand out."Kinsley and Carson have been together in school since kindergarten. However, he's the school jock and doesn't appear to have ever noticed Kinsley. Kinsley has definitely noticed Carson and his hypnotic eyes, but never in her wildest imaginations thought that one day she would have a chance with him."I've been let down so many times, it makes moments like these that much more meaningful.”Do you know that feeling of first love? Constant butterflies and magic. That was exactly what In Pieces was like throughout the story. Yes, there were ups and downs, as is in real-life. But, seeing the admiration and love blossom between Kinsley and Carson gave me all the gushy feels of a newfound love. Carson was devoted and affectionate, never letting other’s opinions change how he felt for Kinsley. Kinsley learned how to let someone love her unconditionally, and experience an intensity of emotions that she never had before. The secondary characters were very impactful in the main characters’ lives, and became a large part of the story. In particular was Wyatt and Becca, and I am hopeful that Author Gia Riley will give us more of their stories. The setting of the story was realistic, and I couldn’t help but to be taken back to high school and live the story as it was told. Closing the last page, I let out a little sigh, so satisfied and feeling light after having read such a sweet and touching story."I was made to love you, Kinsey West. We were always meant to be."

I couldn't seem to put it down because something else was happening. It was well written and developed from the beginning. It ended in cliffhanger. I can't wait to read part 2. I hope it don't take long to come out. This is a banger can't wait to see what else this author has to offer her readers.

When the smoke clears and Millican is dead, an old man by the name of Grant Sackett talks Jess into letting him travel with him to Luden, Texas, where he can turn in Millican’s body for the bounty on his head. While there, he receives an urgent request from United States Marshal Frank Reedy telling him to make it to the town of Washburn, Texas, where John Bodine is waiting for him. Another Winner but the very end is a bit alarming By Wes Benson The story starts out with Jesse in a three against one shootout and it builds up from there. As the story continues Jesse, Bodine and Reedy are after five bank robbers that enjoy killing people and will not leave any witnesses to there crimes. They have already gunned down a young mother and her two daughters who were in a bank as the robbers charged in. There is a lot that goes on in this story, but you will have to read it to find to find out what it is as I do not want to be a "spoiler".

By Mary Jane Kail Jess is in Destin, Texas in pursuit of Harvey Millican but his brother Cory opens the ball when he recognizes Jess in the stable forcing Jess to either kill or be killed. Harvey & his two pals heard the shots as they are enjoying a drink in the local saloon. Now they have Jess pinned down behind a shed. Millican & his friends have been terrorizing the town for several days now so the towns people are happy to see Jess send this scum to a place they can never hurt anyone ever again. Four men dead & he only wanted one. So it goes...Now it's off to Luden to turn in the body but first there's a situation Jess has to deal with. That situation is an old timer called Grant Sackett who asks Jess to let him ride along. He wants Jess' protection so he can reach his brother in Luden. The interaction between the old man & Jess will give readers a chuckle as Jess has to help him up on his mule & then it's obvious that Jess & that mule are not going to form any kind of lasting relationship. So begins an endearing episode in the Jess Williams saga & a real treat for all the fans as we get to reacquaint ourselves with Reedy & Bodine. In following the series after finishing the current book I always think "this is the best one yet" & this one is no exception. Thoroughly enjoyed it & it was worth what felt like a forever wait. Keep up the hunt for the bad guys Jess & I'll be right behind you loving every minute of the dusty trail.

Number 44 By PMSteve Death by Lead is number 44 in the Jess Williams series from Robert J Thomas.Iv'e been reading this series from the beginning. all throughout the series, Jess Williams is always asked, "How many men have you killed, anyway?"Jess always answers, "I lost track a long time ago."Having a couple of weeks with nothing to do, I started rereading the series from the beginning, keeping track of the number of men that Williams has killed, including Indians. There are scenes where he is shooting at Indians or the Mexican Army, where some deaths aren't attributed directly to him by the author. In total, through book number 44, Jess Williams has killed 873, plus or minus 5 men. Sometimes I got involved in the story and forgot to keep track, so I may have missed one or two.The book with the most Jess Williams kills is 'Dodge City Massacre' with 54 kills. The least number of kills is 'Tin Man' with 3 kills. The average number of kills per book is 19.8.Death by Lead was a great story that delves into Frank Reedy's past, which helps round out this character. there's plenty of action of the type that Jess Williams does best. Very entertaining!
