This was a fresh take on supernaturals. I have not read any other story with a concept like this. The main characters were well developed. They were interesting for their strengths and weaknesses. The solidarity that the main characters have is so refreshing. While the hint at romance is give, it doesn't seem to me that there will be any of those annoying and detracting love triangles. I find those take away from the action and purpose of most stories. I, like most, do love the Compass boys. I like that we met Mischance, but I do hope that the series stays mostly centered on Jessa and her point of view. Definitely makes it easier to focus. I loved Jessa's banter and strength, but was glad that she could be vulnerable. Her interactions with her boys is fantastic. Brad is fantastic, but really all of the brothers are. However, for obvious reasons, he is my favorite. I hope that the next book is just as good. They often fall flat by either changing the main focus or characters too much, or by not really moving the story along. This is the first book by Jaymin Eve that I have read. She writes well, keeps the reader engaged, and has great imagination. Seeing as she is releasing 2 more books this year, I fear it will be next year before we get the next one, and that is most disappointing. I do hope I am wrong on that guess.

This has got to be one of the greatest books I've ever read. Seriously.5+ StarsI honestly did not know what I was getting myself into. I'm in love. The main character has a special bond with four guys. They've been together since they were two. Their relationship is probably my favorite thing about the book. They love her so much. I can't really describe it. Jaymin wrote this book wonderfully. Let's just say, they'd die for her, and she'd die for them. All through high school and college my group of friends were a bunch of boys. They treated me like one of them. We hung out 24/7, playing video games, paintball, you name it. I couldn't help that I fit in better with the guys. I guess that's why I like this book so much. Her bond with them constantly made me smile.I'm not going to lie. This is the FUNNIEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. I was constantly laughing, no joke.------------------------------------------------------------------------I stared at it for a moment before a tear escaped the corner of my eye.Braxton laughed. "You are still the only supe I know to cry about cake."I sucked down my sob. "There are very few things in this world that can move me to tears." I hugged the plate close to my chest. "This is just beautiful."------------------------------------------------------------------------Of course, there has to be romance. The author drizzled it here and there, practically teasing her readers. It drove me nuts. It was enough to make me fall in love, though.------------------------------------------------------------------------"You will never lose me," he murmured, reading the agony on my face, "A hundred dragon females could exist - you're my number one. Best friends for life, I haven't forgotten my promise."-----------------------------------------------------------------------Okay, I'm going to obsess over the characters now.Jessa is absolutely amazing. She's everything a girl would want to be... Loving, fierce, beautiful and compassionate. She definitely ranks near the top of my "Favorite Characters of All Time" list. Not to mention, she's bad ass.Braxton Oh my... what a heart throb. The way he acted towards Jessa had me blushing. The tension between them was so real. Not only is he caring, but he's a freaking dragon. It doesn't get more epic than that.Mischa, Tyson, Maximus and Jacob rank pretty high in my books as well. They deserve their own descriptions, but they're alike in so many ways. (And people are going to get annoyed with all my pictures.)They have the biggest hearts, and the best personalities. The book wouldn't be funny without them. They all form such strong bonds with Jessa, and with each other. This is hard to believe considering they are all so different. Mischa, Jessa's sister, is a shifter. Tyson is a wizard, Maximus is a vampire and Jacob is a fey. Despite their different breeds... they are the definition of love and family. If I haven't convinced you to read this yet... I'll try one more time. The story line is pretty original. And like I said before, Jaymin knows how to write. She does it beautifully. The imagery is so vivid it blew me away. I definitely was not reading a book, I was watching a freaking movie. The story flowed very nicely, and I was constantly kept on the edge of my seat. The only thing I hate about this author is that I have to wait for the second book. ;)Trust me when I say, "YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

I have not taken my eyes off my kindle since I fired it up and tried a few words of, “Dragon Marked.”Let's start with what I didn't like, since this will take the least amount of time. The book is, quite frankly, a little slow to take off. I was prepared to endure hours of a teenage girl twirling endless hunky guys around her finger. This book isn't like that. Well, there's plenty of hunky guys and they ARE wrapped around her finger, but the characters are deep, the setting is believable, and the plot will leave you begging for more! The book follows Jessa, a hot-headed wolf shifter with a HUGE appetite for food. Well, mostly for food. She likes boys too. ;-) Her life changes forever when a sister she never knew about walks into her life, and people start dying with all evidence pointing at her four best friends.Dragon Marked is suspenseful, exciting, and fun to read. I know I'll be reading the next book. (There had better be a next book.)
