“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” When Mr. Darcy settles his sights on the indomitable Miss Elizabeth Bennet, sparks ensue. As affections, accusations and misunderstandings fly, the gods themselves will conspire, time after time, to bring them together. In this retelling, the story of Mr. Darcy and his Elizabeth is about to take an unexpected turn. From Hunsford, Hertfordshire to Pemberley, the saga follows the couple as they embark on their tempestuous courtship. Culminating in the wonder of their union and beyond, this story is about to turn sensual. Passions will be unleashed, kisses will be stolen and desires will reign… This title is written in the first person. It is for mature audiences. It contains multiple love scenes.

By SY I rarely find JAFF written in first-person to be well-done but this one was good. I particularly liked that the story went beyond the classic P & P story line continuing into marriage. It made the story much more interesting. The number of "intimate" scenes did not bother me nor did the amount of oral seem excessive as another reviewer wrote. However, the words used in the scenes were often repetitive (perhaps in an effort to draw out the scene?) and in an effort to use only euphemisms, certain parts were confusing in terms of what was actually happening. Overall it was enjoyable and well-written.

In a story where the mastery of the male character is applauded and the female continually submits, it always sticks in my craw when the male's viewpoints are generally correct. I appreciate the ideas presented in that she is well cherished by her husband. The intimate scenes reflect this incredibly well. But when the two were out of the bedroom I was disturbed by his lack of care in their first argument.Especially since Elizabeth didn't have full facts and she was so obviously torn. Wouldn't a truly caring man ease her into accepting so difficult a resolution? There's no way Darcy would have ever abandoned his own sister. Her concerns were valid. He owed her an apology. Of course, we are told he could not be reasonable on the subject, but I don't think that's any kind of justification for his lack, especially when it comes to dealing with his wife, who should've been his first consideration.
2 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A mature P&P variation By Erika L Hoemke This is a sweet and slightly sexually charged P&P. It starts with the unfortunately disastrous proposal in Hunsford. The only difference is that Mr Darcy stole a kiss when he proposed. This derailed Elizabeth's senses a bit, but not for a favorable outcome. The story proceeds in canon with the reunion at Pemberley, the elopement, and the reunion of the Netherfield and Longbourn parties.Where this story takes a turn is the amount of sexual content (so if you do not like the mature content, don't read!), and the secret the Mr Darcy and Georgiana have. This secret, unknown to Elizabeth, drives a small wedge between them because Elizabeth can not forsake one of her own sisters on Mr Darcy's reluctance to speak on the subject.I found that this story touches on the different bounds we have, with our biological family, with our spouses, and with extended family. Sometimes when you choose a course to live by marrying someone, other things/people need to be placed second. You can always love your biological family but when you marry you have to decide where your loyalties lie.I loved this story, even with the tension. I'd recommend this book to all JAFFers, except those against Mature subjects.
